Nobody is ever going to convince me that the general reaction of ardent fan hate towards Raiden in MGS2 is not related to his more feminine appearance (compared to Snake) and the fact that he spends a good part of the game running around naked. Yeah, so Solid Snake also has a ridiculously detailed ass and crotch, wears suits with weird shit on them that completely look like corsets and/or fetish wear and Naked Snake admittedly loves parading around shirtless and would take off his pants too if he could, but they are gruff dudes with a beard and a deep voice and apparently that makes it okay. Yet the dude with the flowing blond hair and more slender build is the one everyone hates, laughs at and calls a pussy and a fag, despite being by far the MGS protagonist with less gay subtext and the only one that doesn’t have a relationship that has been described as homoerotic or homoromantic in one way or another by the creator. Makes perfect sense, amirite.
